New Discoveries - September 2017

Last month I received a big box of beauty goodies from home, and I'm still just delving into some of the products weeks later! I've pulled out the four products I've been most impressed with so far, and surprisingly it's a makeup heavy lot. I feel like my New Discoveries posts are usually dominated by skincare, so this is a fun and refreshing change for me. Click through to read more about September's New Discoveries.
Rimmel InstaFix&Go Setting Spray
$13.95/100ml
I'm a long time setting spray skeptic, but something about Rimmel's InstaFix&Go Primer/Setting Spray drew me in, and I love it! I can't say that InstaFix does much in the priming department, but this facial mist does an amazing job at reducing the appearance of powder on the skin while imparting a subtle glowy finish to the skin. I'm still testing this setting spray's effect on the longevity of my makeup, but so far I'm thoroughly impressed.

Pur-Lisse Daily Lip Nourisher
$16/11ml
After a recent lip balm disappointment, I was ready to try something new, so I cracked into Pur-Lisse' Daily Lip Nourisher and I haven't looked back! This lightweight lip balm reminds me of a more effective Balm Dotcom (ooh, I'll have to try it on my nails, come to think of it). The Daily Lip Nourisher sits on top of the lips in a slightly greasy way, slowly sinking in, delivering a nice dose of plumping hydration along the way.

ELF Mineral Infused Face Primer*
$16/30ml
I haven't tried anything new from ELF in YEARS, making this the most surprising addition to this post. The Mineral Infused Primer isn't much different from your standard silicone primer a la Smashbox Photo Finish, but it's taken a step up in the texture department. ELF's offering is exceptionally light and smooth - it completely masks my pores without clogging them, and it seems to play nicely with every foundation currently in my collection.

Benefit Gimme Brow Volumizing Gel
$39/3ml
Benefit's Gimme Brow was on my wishlist for years, so you best believe I snapped it up as an Ipsy point perk! After using several tubes the supposed dupe, Essence Make Me Brow, I was blown away by how good Benefit's tinted brow gel really is (not that Make Me Brow isn't good in it's own right, I just don't think they're very close dupes). Gimme Brow adds color, thickness, and texture to the brow with minimal effort - and it's virtually undetectable!
