New Discoveries - August 2017

My collection of beauty products expanded greatly this month. A big box full of pr samples, gifts, and Ipsy Bags arrived from home, and I've been trying out a lot of things! I've only included one standout item in this post, along with five products that I've been using and loving since the beginning of August. Click through to read about this this month's New Discoveries.

Soap&Glory Hand Food Hand Cream
$8/125ml
I've long heard that Soap&Glory's Hand Food is one of the best hand creams on the market, so when I ran out of Lush's Love and Light Hand Cream, I decided to finally give it a try, and I really like it! This hand cream is rich and softening without being greasy, and scented with Soap&Glory's signature Pink scent (a gorgeous blend of rose and bergamot). I slightly prefer Love and Light, but Hand Food is a satisfactory (and more affordable) replacement.

Soap&Glory Clean on Me Shower Gel*
$9/500ml
Soap&Glory gifted me a bottle of Clean on Me in late 2015, and at the time I found it to be only ok. I recently repurchased it after finishing my favorite Bath&BodyWorks shower gel, and it's so much better than I remember?? I'm not sure if Soap&Glory have reformulated this shower gel, or if my tastes have changed, but either way, I love everything about Clean on Me - from the creamy lather, to it's softening effects, to it's convenient pump packaging, and it's lovely Pink fragrance. I won't even get started on the value - $9 for half a litre is kinda insane.

LaRoche Posay Serozinc
$12.99/50ml
I've heard rave reviews of LaRoche Posay's Serozinc for years, and was always skeptical. How can a product that's 99% water do anything for me? I picked Serozinc up during Priceline's 40% off skincare sale earlier this month, just to try, and I actually like it a lot. I don't think Serozinc is the miracle product it's often touted to be, but it does seem to have a calming, redness reducing effect on the skin.

McArthur Skincare Replenishing Shampoo&Conditioner*
$26.95/250ml
Hair care products, more often then not, bore me. I see them as more of a necessity than a small luxury, and usually I fail to see much of a difference from one product to the next. I expected McArthur's Replenishing Shampoo and Conditioner to be decent products, but I didn't expect them to have as much of an impact on my hair as they have! The shampoo cleanses my hair effectively, while the conditioner softens and detangles better than anything I can remember using. Together they leave my hair looking and feeling very soft and manageable. Looking through my selfies over the past month, I can always tell when I've used this duo.

Marc Jacobs Dew Drops Coconut Highlighter
$63/24ml
Do you ever swatch a product and know it's the only one you'll ever need? Those moments are increasingly rare for me, but it happened as soon as I tried Marc Jacobs' Coconut Highlighter. This soft golden champagne highlight suits my warm, pale skin perfectly, and it's scintillance is subtle yet eye catching. I could wax poetic about this liquid highlighter, or I could just tell you that it bumped Benefit's High Beam off of it's pedestal within my collection.
