Garnier 5 Second Blur Instant Smoother Review

Garnier's 5 Second Blur Instant Smoother is "designed to instantly blur the visible signs of aging including: wrinkles, fine lines, flaws, and visible pores. In just five seconds, skin feels smoother, looks younger, and is more radiant." This blurring face primer contains 30ml (1 fl oz) and sells for between $14-18, depending on where you buy it. Garnier is not cruelty free. This product was made in America.

Garnier's 5 Second Blur comes in a light pink, elongated tube squeeze tube. The Garnier logo and product name are printed on the front of the tube, directions can be found on the back. Packaging is recyclable.
The 5 Second Blur Instant Smoother is a vaguely pink tinged, slightly pasty primer that applies over the skin smoothly. You only need a little bit of this primer to get the job done. Over application will cause this primer to pill up, ruining your foundation. This primer really smooths out the texture of my skin, blurring (but not completely erasing the appearance) of pores, fine lines, and small blemishes. Garnier's Instant Smoother helps most foundations apply and blend more easily. There are a few exceptions though - L'Oreal's Visible Lift Blur and Rimmel Stay Matte Mousse foundations do not agree with the 5 Second Blur Instant Smoother. This primer does not seem to control oil, nor does it seem to extend the wear of my foundation. The slightly pink tint is actually pretty brightening, enhancing the smooth finish of Garnier's primer. Like so many silicone laden face primers, Garnier's Instant Smoother has a tendency to clog the pores on the sides of my nose, causing some little pimples here and there.
Garnier's 5 Second Blur Instant Smoother is a decent face primer, it'll smooth out small imperfections, while brightening the complexion just a bit. This is like a lighter, more affordable version of L'Oreal's RevitaLift Miracle Blur Instant Skin Smoother. This primer only suits normal skin types really, it doesn't control oil, but could be a little drying on dry skin.To be honest, I feel like this face primer is over priced for what it does, and who its made by, so for that reason I won't repurchase it.
