Herbal Essences The Sleeker The Butter Smoothing Shampoo&Conditioner Review

Herbal Essences recently added half a dozen new shampoo&conditioners. I was almost overwhelmed by choice, but I settled on The Sleeker The Butter. Herbal Essences says their new smoothing shampoo and conditioner will "have you rolling in richness for a sleek style that keeps frizz and fly aways under control." A matching Smooth&Creamy Hair Milk is also available. Both the shampoo and conditioner contain 300ml (10 fl oz) and retail for around $4 each. Herbal Essences does not test on animals, but their parent company Clairol is not cruelty free. These hair care products are made in the USA. Herbal Essences products are available at drugstores and major retailers world wide.

The Sleeker The Butter shampoo and conditioner come in curvaceous, bronzey bottles with pop up green spouts. The Herbal Essences logo and product name, as well as images of cupuacu fruit are printed on the front o the label. Product information and ingredient lists can be found on the back of the bottles. Packaging is recyclable.
Herbal Essences says their The Sleeker The Butter Shampoo will really "smooth things over. With the soothing scent of cupuacu butter, our rich shampoo tames tresses for silky smoothness in just one wash. So forget frizz and fly aways - go chic and sleek!". The Sleeker The Butter Shampoo is thick, creamy, and peach in color. This rich shampoo lathers nicely - better than most of Herbal Essences' creamy formulas. This shampoo rinses cleanly. Though this coffee infused formula does contain sulfates, it doesn't seem to negatively impact my henna hair color. This shampoo is fairly moisturizing, sometimes I don't feel like I need to use the matching conditioner.

"Settle into sleek with our moisturizing conditioner. Its got a little cupuacu fragrance and a lot of style smoothing hydration, so it treats your hair to a fragrant burst of lush moisture. Kiss frizz and fly aways goodbye and enjoy smooth, sleek strands after just one use." Herbal Essences' The Sleeker The Butter Conditioner is bright coral in color and slightly lighter in consistency than most Herbal Essences conditioners. It spreads nicely through the hair. This conditioner is adequately moisturizing and it does help to untangle somewhat. This conditioner rinses out easily, leaving hair feeling quite silky.
Herbal Essences The Sleeker The Butter Shampoo and Conditioner have a lightly scent that's somewhere between cocoa butter and coffee. I guess that's what cupuacu smells like? Regardless, its pleasant, sweet, and non-offensive. I wish it lingered longer in my hair.

Herbal Essences' The Sleeker The Butter is a coffee scented treat for those with mildly frizzy or unmanageable hair. This shampoo and conditioner smooths hair temporarily, leaving hair feeling silky and moisturized. I don't think I'll repurchase this hair care duo in favor of trying another one of Herbal Essences' new lines. If you're looking for silky hair for a fair price, give The Sleeker The Butter a go.
