Jersey Shore Sun's Mongongo Lip Conditioners come in standard plastic lip balm tubes. A colorful, jungle print label wraps around the tube, offering the product name and ingredient list. This balm twists up easily, but this stick-form balm is a little stubborn when to try to retract it back into the tube. Packaging is recyclable.
Jersey Shore Sun's Mongongo Lip Conditioner has an excellent ingredient list - completely comprised of natural, hydrating ingredients. This balm has a slick, thickish creamy consistency, it practically melts on to the lips. This lip balm feel fantastic while its on the lips, very hydrating and silky. The Mongongo Lip Conditioner sits on the lips 20-30 minutes, providing a soft, colorless shine. This organic lip balm sinks in slowly, and one its fully absorbed my lips look and feel plump and soft...for a while. About an hour after this lip balm has sunken in, my lips are dry and desperate for reapplication. I'm not sure what ingredient is dehydrating my lips, it shouldn't be any of them, my only guess is one of the flavoring agents. A quick reapplication cures the dryness temporarily, but of course its a lip balm fueled vicious circle. I'm not really into the Vanilla Coconut Cream flavor either. I've never been one for coconut anything, unless its done right, like Glossier's Coconut Balm Dotcom, but really I barely pick any up in the Vanilla Coconut Cream Mongongo Lip Conditioner. To me, this balm just smells like waxy vanilla, and it tastes like it too.
I really wanted to like Jersey Shore Sun's Vanilla Coconut Cream Mongongo Lip Conditioner, and it has a lot of good qualities to it - the texture is great, and it does provide some hydration. Unfortunately, my lips react poorly to one of the ingredients and I end up with dry lips in the end. I don't much care for a lip balm that needs to be followed up with another, stronger lip balm - usually the Glossier one I mentioned above. The flavor also doesn't do much for me, it tastes a bit waxy. I wouldn't repurchase or recommend Jersey Shore Sun's Mongongo Lip Conditioners - if you want a natural balm that's similar but doesn't cause potential dryness, try one of Olive Naturals' balms instead.
