It Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Brow Pencil Review+Swatches

It Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Brow Pencil "matches all hair colors and covers gray perfectly. The oval shaped tip is perfect for both thin and thick brows. The spooley end brush gives a natural polished look! Developed with leading plastic surgeons, our proprietary anti-aging technology infuses a blend of brow-conditioning ingredients including Saw Palmetto, Nettle Extract, Green Tea, Biotin, Lecithin, Vitamins A, C, E, Grape Seed and Panthenol. Our exclusive, transforming shade adjusts to every hair color based on how hard you press to give you a beautiful, natural-looking brow. Paraben-free, Fragrance-free, Phthalate-free and Sulfate-free." This brow pencil is available in two sizes - the full size pencil sells for $24, and the travel size, which I have here, costs $12. I received the Brow Power Universal Brow Pencil in a recent Ipsy Bag. It Cosmetics is cruelty free. This brow pencil was made in Korea.

The It Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Brow Pencil has the most convenient packaging - the design is very smart, though not particularly decorative. On one end of the slim tube, the flat pencil twists up, maintaining an ever rounded tip. On the other end, you'll find a soft, dense spoolie that comes in handy before and after application. All of these features come together to create a brow pencil that's excellent for use at home or on the go.
The Brow Power Universal Brow Pencil is quite interesting, its entirely different from the only other brow pencil I've tried, Maybelline's Brow Precise Shaping Pencil. This brow pencil is quite hard, and the texture is kinda strange - its neither waxy nor powdery - it feels like a stiffer automatic eyeliner. That dry, hard texture is what makes this pencil special - for more than one reason!

This pencil's stiff texture helps the user create a very realistic brow (with a bit of practice of course, no colored brow product is foolproof). Whether you need to fill in a few gaps, add a bit of color, of draw a new brow from scratch, you'll be able to craft a believable eyebrow with this pencil. The Brow Power Universal Brow Pencil's dryness keeps each stroke short, narrow, and hairlike. The hard nature of this product also helps it adhere to both skin and hair, without creating any unwanted texture - be sure to top with a brow gel if you need some hold. Once you've applied It Cosmetics' Brow Power Universal Brow Pencil, it really lasts! There's no smudging or fading, and you don't have to worry about rubbing or sweating your brows off - this stuff is damn near waterproof and you'll need a very effective makeup remover to take it off. If you want weatherproof eyebrows, this is an excellent choice!

The Universal Taupe shade is unique because its pressure based. What does that mean? The shade varies widely, depending on how much pressure you use to apply this brow pencil. The swatches above represent only a fraction of this pencil's potential color spectrum. In the tube, this pencil looks like a dark, ashy brown, but a soft, feathery stroke will produce a light taupe that'll suit blondes, and a heavy hand will render a nearly black shade to match the darkest of hair colors. Unfortunately, Universal Taupe isn't quite all inclusive - the neutral to cool taupe tone does not suit redheads like myself. I personally prefer my brows to have just a hint of a red tinge to them, and I can't get that from this pencil.
It Cosmetics' Brow Power Universal Brow Pencil is a good product that doesn't suit my personal needs. This stiff brow pencil gives you a ton of control to create a convincing brow with ease, and the formula holds up very well in all conditions. The Universal Taupe shade will suit nearly everyone, but it doesn't cater to gingers (which is fair enough, we're definitely a minority in this situation). The It Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Brow Pencil is an excellent product that's definitely worth checking out - plus, It Cosmetics donates one Brow Power Universal Brow Pencil to a woman with cancer for each one purchased, so it really can't hurt to try this fantastic product.
