Sugarpill Love+ Eyeshadow Review+Swatches

Sugarpill says their Pressed Eyeshadows are "richly pigmented, velvety smooth, luxury pressed eyeshadows for all night party wear." Sugarpill offers 21 shades, today I'm reviewing Love+. Love+ can be bought as a single (3.5 grams/$12), or as part of the Burning Heart Quad ($34). Sugarpill prides themselves in making cruelty free, California made products.

Sugarpill's pressed shadows come in small, round compact with black plastic pans and a clear flip top that bears the Sugarpill logo. The shade name can be found on the back of the pan. Sorry for the lack of packaging photos, but all of my Sugarpill shadows are in their IMATS exclusive Pro Palette.

Love+ has a very dry, rough texture. I was seriously surprised  by how gritty this eyeshadow is! Despite it's strange, unpleasant texture, Love+ is pretty easy to pick up and pat on, without causing much fallout. Blending, either on it's own, to fusing it with another shadow, can be difficult. Love+ gets patchy and uneven during blending, so you'll have to come back in with a bit more color post-blend. Love+ wears very strangely on me - it creases immediately, but then it never gets any worse? What the heck tho? Love+ doesn't fade for up to eight hours. Removal can be a pain, and this red eyeshadow will stain your eyelids, mine stay red forever! Like Dollipop, Love+ can be used as a blush as well.

Love+ is described as a "bright red! Not for the faint of heart!" Love+ is a matte, true red that leans slightly to the cooler, blue toned end of the spectrum. This isn't the easiest color to pull off on it's own, but its actually a lovely color to use as an accent. Worn on it's own, Love+ has a very Green Day 2006 vibe to it, don't you think? That's the look I went for in my eye swatch below lol.

Sugarpill's Love+ is a vibrant, matte red - not the easiest eyeshadow to find, or to wear! Love+'s formula is difficult and kind of puzzling. Pigmentation is strong, but it gets creasy and patchy and it will stain your eyelids. Personally, I wouldn't repurchase Love+, I don't wear a red eyeshadow too often. However, you probably won't find a more affordable option if this is the color you're looking for.
