Sugarpill's ChromaLusts are "glamorous, sparkling loose eyeshadows that outshine them all. These ultra fine, metallic powders combine show stopping color with adhesive elements for long lasting wear." Sugarpill offers 20 shades, today I'm reviewing Darling. Unfortunately, Darling was discontinued just the other day, and is no longer available directly from Sugarpill, but its still available through some of their other stockists. This loose eyeshadow contains 4.5 grams of product and sells for $13 (expect prices to climb as Darling becomes harder to find). Sugarpill is cruelty free, and most of their products, including Darling are vegan. Sugarpill's ChromaLust pigments are made in the USA.
Sugarpill's ChromaLusts come in bright boxes that offer product information and a full ingredient list. The pigment it's self comes packed to the brim in a short, round plastic jar with no sifter. The black twist on cap bears the brand logo, and the shade name can be found on a label on the bottom of the jar. Unfortunately, packaging isn't recyclable.
Darling is one of Sugarpill's denser, chunkier pigments, it applies smoothly and causes very little fallout. Darling has good pigmentation on it's own, but of course a primer will boost payoff. This loose shade is even better when its foiled, color payoff doubles and the finish becomes almost iridescent. Sugarpill's Darling blends so easily, without losing it's bold intensity - this is probably the easiest ChromaLust I've tried so far! I get excellent wear from Darling, it doesn't fade, and it lasts about nine hours before it starts to crease. This pigment is pretty difficult to remove, and it will stain fair skin - I speak from experience!
Sugarpill describes Darling as a "stunning teal loaded with iridescent turquoise star bursts." To me, Darling is the perfect balance of blue and green - you will never see a more beautiful, true teal! Darling is chock full of silver and aqua micro glitter that sparkles and catches the light in a stunning but subtle way.
Sugarpill's Darling pigment will be sorely missed! This loose eyeshadow has strong pigmentation and a great formula. Darling really is the ideal teal, if you can track it down, do yourself a favor and pick it up!
