Kiehls' Creme de Corps Body Lotion is the one of the brand's signature products. Kiehl's calls this product a "superb all over body moisturizer of superb quality for extremely dry or flaking skin. Enriched with the finest ingredients known to Kiehl's for a rich, elegant skin texture. Continued use for 10 days will provide a skin texture heretofore unattainable. Qualite Internationale!" This world famous body lotion is available in a variety of sizes, at a range of price points: 2.5fl oz ($11), 4.2fl oz ($18), 8.4fl oz ($29.50), 16.9fl oz ($48), and 1L ($75). Kiehls is not cruelty free. This lotion was made in America.
Kiehl's Creme de Corps lotion has plain packaging, almost apothecary like in style. This lotion comes in a round bottle with a flip top cap. A white label wraps around the bottle. This label bears plenty of product information in multiple languages, as well as a full ingredient list. Packaging is recyclable.
As I mentioned, Creme de Corps is Kiehls' claim to long lasting fame (this brands been around since 1851 - 163 years!), so I had very high expectations for this lotion. Creme de Corps is a midweight, butter yellow lotion that spreads nicely over the skin and sinks in fairly fast. This lotion is feels a bit greasy for about ten minutes after application, which isn't surprising due to the high content of Squalene, glycerin, and a variety of plant oils and butters. Kiehls' Creme de Corps is quite hydrating - it soothes and smooths even parched, flaky skin. I slather my hands and feet in this lotion after work, as a preventative measure, and its been keeping them in great condition. This lotion's hydration is long lasting. Kiehls Creme de Corps Body Lotion is fragrance free, it has a neutral scent.
I understand why Kiehls' Creme de Corps has such a good reputation. This lotion is very effective for moisturizing and smoothing the skin - all while soothing mild irritation. Good as it is, this lotion is extremely pricey. My 250ml bottle would sell for nearly $30, and I could never justify that cost - I can't even bear to pay $12.50 for the same amount of Bath&BodyWorks lotion. Kiehls' Creme de Corps would be a lovely product to give or receive as a gift, but its too expensive to indulge in, in my opinion.
