Tarina Tarantino Coral Cameo Dollskin Cream Blush&Pressed Sparklicity Duo Review+Swatches

Tarina Tarantino's Dollskin Cream Blush&Pressed Sparklicity Powder Duos are "exquisite blush duos" that "blend effortlessly on your cheeks with the subtle glisten of Sparklicity, now in powder form. This velvety cream to powder blush formulation acts as a magnet for Sparklicity powder, giving long-lasting, fantastical results while leaving skin moisturized and healthy looking." Two color combos are available, this post features Coral Cameo. The Dollskin Duos cost $28 for eleven grams of product. I received this product in my June Wantable Box. Tarina Tarantino's cosmetic line is available in the brand's boutiques, on their website, and on a few eTailers as well. The brand pulled out of Sephora about a year and a half ago. Tarina Tarantino is a cruelty free brand. This blush duo was made in Italy.

Tarina Tarantino's makeup line has wonderful packaging. This product showed up in a grey striped cardboard box. The silver Tarina Tarantino logo is surrounded by pink and silver details. The ingredient list for both formulas can be found on the back of the box. Inside the box is a lovely grey, oval shaped compact with a domed top. Open up the compact and you'll find a good quality mirror. The two products are separated into their own pans, though there's still some powder contaminating the cream product. All this lovely packaging is recyclable.
The Dollskin Cream Blush in Mr. Pink (4.5 grams/.16 oz) is an exceptionally awesome cream blush. This blush is dense, not particularly moist, but creamy in consistency - it blends like a dream. This cream blusher really melds with the skin beautifully, it looks very natural. Mr. Pink applies nicely with fingers or a small stippling brush. I recommend Bdellium Tools 925 Brush if you go the brush route, though I personally prefer fingers. Tarina Tarantino's Mr. Pink is quite pigmented, but it can be sheered out as much as you like. I get good wear from this cream blush, up to nine hours, though it begins to fade after six. The brand describes Mr. Pink as a "hot pink". Mr. Pink is a bright, warm pink with subtle shimmer, though some of the glitter from the Pressed Sparklicity Powder has worked it's way into it. For being so bright, Mr. Pink is surprisingly flattering.
I was a little puzzled by the Pressed Sparklicity Powder in Coral Cameo (6.5 grams/.23 oz). Like, what the heck am I gonna do with a pressed orange glitter? Turns out, I can do lotsa stuff with it. Applied with a wispy fan brush like Bdellium Tool's 925. Coral Cameo can be a strong highlighter, or a body glitter. Used in a concentrated manner, Tarina Tarantino's Pressed Sparklicity Powder makes a gorgeous eyeshadow. Both as a highlighter and body glitter, the Coral Cameo quite long wearing, it stays til you wash it away. Tarina Tarantino describes Coral Cameo as a "peachy pink blush//bronze sparklicity." In the pan, Coral Cameo looks like a bright, glittery, tangerine shade. However blended on the skin, the base color becomes nearly invisible, leaving behind a bunch of small, but extraordinarily sparkly gold glitter.
Tarina Tarantino's Coral Cameo Dollskin Blush Duo is gorgeous, and all around awesome. Packaging is gorgeous and sturdy, though I wish there was better division between the cream and powder products. The Mr. Pink Dollskin Cream Blush is so easy to work. Between the color, texture, and payoff, Mr. Pink is damn near perfect. On the other hand, Coral Cameo, the Pressed Sparklicity Powder, can be confusing at first, but I've found it to be a great multi-use product. Highlighter, eyeshadow, body glitter, it can do a little bit of a lot of things. For $28, you get a healthy amount of two excellent quality cheek products - all in a pretty compact. I love Tarina Tarantino's Dollskin Blush Duo - I really, really want to try more from the brand!

  1. Is the cream blush on the drier side of cream formulas? I have a couple NYX cream blushes and those are too wet of a formula for my skin, and the texture of this looks quite nice!

    1. Yes, drier, but not chalky or pasty. The texture is beautiful!

  2. dang, I was going to pick up one when they were on hautelook, but I backed out because I wasn't sure about the formulation! Gorgeous product though! Definitely need to get it when it's back on hautelook!

  4. The colors are gorgeous. I think they would work great on me. I've thought about the wantable box but never pulled the trigger on it. Thanks for sharing with the #wakeupwednesdaylinky. I am co-hosting and the blush caught my eye so I had to stop by and read about it.
