Gloss Professional Eye Pencil Blending Brush Review

Gloss is an ultra affordable Australian beauty brand that makes surprisingly awesome brushes. This review is for their Professional Eye Pencil Blending Brush. Gloss doesn't offer an official description of this brush - but they do mention that the bristles are nylon. The Gloss Professional Eye Pencil Blending Brush retails for $4.95 AUD and is exclusively available at Gloss shops. This brush was made in China.

[compared to Bdellium's 714 Brush]
Gloss Professional Eye Pencil Blending Brush (what a mouthful lol) has a lacquered wooden handle with a firmly affixed black metal ferrule. Dense white nylon bristles, cut precisely straight across, protrude from the ferrule. Gloss' white bristled brushes wash surprisingly well, they never seem to stain and even thick, dried gel eyeliner slides right out. This brush has never shed a single bristle. The synthetic white nylon bristles dry very quickly. Gloss' Professional Eye Pencil Blending Brush has held it's shape very well, with no splaying to speak of.
The Professional Eye Pencil Blending Brush is essentially a smudge brush, and a good one at that. This dense, stiff, flat brush precisely smudges cream, gel, and kohl eyeliners - giving a smokey but not messy result. I don't recommend using this smudge brush with powder products, as the thick nylon bristles seem to absorb product as opposed to blending it. Alternatively, the flat sides of Gloss' Professional Eye Pencil Blending Brush are good for patting cream shadows on.
Gloss Professional Eye Pencil Blending Brush is quite nice for smudging pencil liners, and their gel and cream counterparts. For being so cheap, this brush is sturdily constructed. The nylon bristles are easy to keep clean and hold their shape well. I don't reach for this brush particularly often, but I'm never disappointed when I do. I recommend Gloss' Professional Eye Pencil Blending Brush if its available to you.

    1. Me. I bought it that day you left me alone at the mall for like six hours.
