NYX Incredible Waterproof Concealer Stick Review (Porcelain)

NYX Incredible Waterproof Concealer Stick will "help camouflage blemishes, fine lines or skin issues. Conditioning ingredients ensure the formula blends easily with fingertips, brush or sponge, and appears natural. The Concealer Stick provides medium to heavy coverage." This concealer is available in 8 flesh toned shades and three color correctors - I'm reviewing Porcelain, the lightest shade. The Incredible Waterproof Concealer contains 1.5g (.052 oz) and sells for around $5. NYX is a cruelty free brand. This concealer was made in China. NYX products can be bought through the brand's website, Cherry Culture, Target, Ulta, and select drugstores.

Not gonna lie, the packaging is what drew me into this product. I need to stop being such a sucker for blue stuff. Anyway, NYX Incredible Waterproof Concealer Stick comes in a blue plastic tube with a clear cap. The NYX logo and product name are printed on the front of the tube in white lettering. The shade name and number, along with a full ingredient list, can be found on the back of the tube. The product twists up and down smoothly. The NYX Incredible Waterproof Concealer Stick is much thinner, but longer than most stick form concealers. The packaging is super portable and convenient for on-the-go touch ups.
I'm not very partial to stick concealers, so I was a little apprehensive about Incredible Waterproof Concealer Stick's formula. I shouldn't have worried, this is a pretty good concealer. The texture is in the middle of the road, in terms of stick concealers - not dry and waxy, but not exceptionally emollient either. I've found the best way to apply this concealer is to rub it on a clean fingertip and pat it over the area I planned on concealer. This concealer is fairly blendable. NYX Incredible Waterproof Concealer Stick can grab at dry patches and scabbed over acne, and it may settle into fine lines. All around, this is a decent concealer, it covers under eye circles, masks discoloration and light bruises, and can be used on fresh blemishes. If you like to conceal around the brow or lips, this is the stick concealer for you, the small round tip is very precise. Is the Incredible Waterproof Concealer Stick truly waterproof? I don't think so, however it will deliver all day wear, usually. As far as coverage goes, I'd say this concealer offers a solid light to medium coverage that can be built up to nearly full.
NYX offers their Incredible Waterproof Concealer Stick in a good color range. Porcelain is extremely fair, dare I say slightly too light for me. On the opposite end of the spectrum is Nutmeg, which is quite deep. The shades in between cover a decent amount of skin tones, though they do lean towards the lighter side. Anyway, on to Porcelain, which NYX describes as a "light shade with blue undertones." I can't really see the blue undertone, but Porcelain is quite cool, too cool in tone for me. Aside from the overly cool tone, this is a pretty close match for me. Porcelain has a brightening, skin like satin finish.
NYX Incredible Waterproof Concealer Stick isn't my new favorite, but it has some good qualities. Packaging is sleek and convenient to use at home or out and about. The texture is definitely workable, this concealer is best applies with the fingers. This stick concealer can do a little bit of everything. The color range is good, I like that color correctors as offered as well, I might try them. The price, $5, is very fair. I wouldn't call this NYX concealer "incredible", and it doesn't seem to be waterproof but its a good product that's worth checking out if you're on the market for a new stick concealer.
