Barry M Dazzle Dusts are so cutely packaged. These loose shadows come in a small, round, glass jar topped off with a black twist off cap. The product name and Barry M logo and website are printed on the cap. The shade number is printed on a label on the bottom of the jar. These little jars are very easy to store. Are they practical, travel friendly, and mess free? No, but what pigment packaging is?
Pigments can be used for many things, but their most common use is as eyeshadow, and this product will be reviewed as such. Barry M's #90 Dazzle Dust has a slightly chunky texture, it could be a little more finely milled. Despite the semi-chunky texture, this pigment also has a very powdery quality to it. It causes a lot of fall out and is easy to over-blend. This shade is on the sheerer side and needs to be foiled or really layered to pack a punch. This loose eyeshadow wears pretty poorly, fading significantly through the day. I experience creasing after 7 hours over primer and after four hours when used wet.
I don't think Barry M couldn't have been further off by calling #90 "mauve" without leaving the purple family. This shade is a violet with a bit of a sheen and blue duochrome. When foiled #90 shows up as an intense purple, but it can also be lightly dusted on for a soft periwinkle color. I love this shade.
Barry M's Dazzle Dust in #90 is a beautiful violet that really compliments my brown eyes. Beautiful as it is, this pigment performs poorly. The color payoff is only passable. I can't really fault Dazzle Dusts for being messy, they're loose eyeshadows, fallout comes with the territory. My really disappointment I have in Dazzle Dust #90 is the poor, creasy wear. I would not repurchase or recommend this pigment.
